Financial Markets Ethics, Governance & Compliance (Dummy Course)

This lesson focuses on strengthening ethical culture through real-world case studies and structured professional reflection.

Ethical culture refers to the shared values, attitudes, and behaviours that guide decision-making within an organisation. A strong ethical culture goes beyond written rules and compliance requirements by encouraging integrity, accountability, and responsible judgement at all levels.

Key areas covered include:
• The importance of ethical culture in financial institutions
• How ethical failures often arise despite existing rules
• Real-world examples of ethical dilemmas in financial markets
• The role of leadership, tone from the top, and peer influence
• Personal accountability and professional judgement

Ethical decision-making requires individuals to recognise dilemmas, assess consequences, and act in a manner that protects clients, markets, and the public interest—even when under pressure.

Participants are encouraged to reflect on their own professional responsibilities and how they would respond to ethical challenges in practice.
